BOOLEAN OBJECTS (first example)

1. BOOLEAN DIFFERENCE :

We will do it here with a sphere. But you can use any object and terrain to handle this. Also you can make round holes etc...

Choose a night atmosphere.

Create a cube. Resize and strech it ONLY in the TOP VIEW and place it like this : (if it sticks out of both sides, you will get 2 "windows", if it only sticks out on one side, you get 1 window.

Now click on an empty space !

In the world browser FIRST CHOOSE SPHERE and then, in holding CTRL down, choose CUBE
In boolean difference you always have to choose the body first and second the "piece" which you want to "remove" from the body. THe sphere and the cube becomes uplighted.

Click on BOOLEAN DIFFERENCE in the left toolbar.


Results :

Let's make another window.


In the world browser, FIRST choose DIFFERENCE and second the new cube in holding the CTRL down, then click again on BOOLEAN DIFFERENCE.

You can make as much "holes" you want into an object.

But now, the inside of the sphere is almost compact. We have to make it hollow.


In the world browser, open Difference2 AND Difference.

Click on SPHERE with the RIGHT mouse button and choose COPY, then PASTE the SPHERE. In the SIDE VIEW resize the copy to make it just a bit smaller then the Original.

CLOSE DIFFERENCE AND DIFFERENCE 2
Now, again, in the world browser, click FIRST on DIFFERENCE 2 and second on SPHERE (the new one) and choose BOOLEAN DIFFERENCE.
To complete, place a light inside the sphere. Choose point light (the only one you can use for this kind) and place it in the center of the finished sphere (difference 3). I rotated the sphere a little.
